In case some of you don't know yet, I am now officially A Song of Ice And Fire fanatic. When I say fanatic, I mean it, I am crazy about the series. What bugs me like mad is the series isn't finished and I hate waiting for books coming out since no one one how long I should wait. Geez, even the author clearly has no clue. This open letter is inspired by a webchat transcript here.
Here's my open letter.
Dearest Ser George,I guess I have to tell you that I am now obsessed with your series. So obsessed that I cannot even hate Cersei. The funny thing is, I also loathe it because it always takes years before the next book is released. Really, why can't you write one book per year, for example? I think it's a reasonable time for us to wait for a sequel. Let's face it, many of us are not young anymore, what if we've already forgotten the whole story? Considering the big fat tome you wrote, I don't think it's even an option.You know what I find depressing? The way you said about that red comet. Please, please, dearest Ser George, don't make it end that way. You won't, will you? After those those thousands pages you've written? After all the emotional investment we have on you characters?I know this letter is full of nonsense, but please take it as a compliment, Ser George. I've never had my soul attached to any series like this before. What I fancy is for you to be placed in a secluded area where you have no option rather than to write, but that ain't gonna happen, I know.Enough said, Ser George.
