Review : Black Flowers by Steve Mosby

Tittle : Black Flowers
Author : Steve Mosby
Publication date : April 1, 2011 by Orion Publishing

Black Flowers is the first crime novel I read. I don't really read crime book because there are too many crime TV series out there that kind of bore me. However, I changed my mind. When I saw the front cover of the book and located the "the dead can tell tales" sentence, I felt like, well, this must be a good story worth checking out.

I am so grateful that my guts was right. This is a good book! Even though those crime show don't interest me anymore, Black Flowers is just something different. It's a duo story, told by two main characters of the novel. Neil Dawson is a wannabe author who desired to be an outstanding writer like his dad. One day, his father commits suicide leaving him devastated. To make matters worse, his pregnant girlfriend is abducted by a stranger. In the other hand, DS Hannah price is a police officer, raised by a loving father however day by day she discovered that her childhood isn't as nice as she remembers it to be.

It's not an easy read. The story is quite complex, but hey, that's what makes it rich! I adore how the author describes his story. It is extremely graphic that I forgot I was reading a book because I believed that I was watching it! It doesn't stop there because I could also feel the characters' emotions. The descriptions makes it easy to relate with them. That's what a good book does, right?

Is there anything I don't like about the book? No, non, nein, neen! I love everything about it. If you are a crime fiction fan, this is a must read! If you are not a fan of crime fiction, it's a must read too, who knows it will change your mind *giggles*. Black Flowers is worth reading, period!

No doubt this book gets 5 rating from me!

Are you a fan of crime fiction?
