Scratch is short and sweet horror story. When I first read the synopsis, it got me very interested. However, I expected it to be a novel, not just a short story. It's an ebook format embedded with audio to enhance the reading experience. The good news is, for those of you who love uninterrupted read, there's a screenplay at the end of the ebook for full script of the conversations.

Four-year-old Keilee Ann's parents are in huge amount of debt and make a deal with a demon owner who is also a debt collector.  The demon is set loose to prey those who owe its master, forcing Keilee Ann to deal with it. Alone. Since this is such a short story, I don't really have much to comment. I like the story's description and I find Keilee Ann to be an interesting character. However, there's one thing that makes me confused which is the age target of the story. With its horror with graphic description of the characters being killed and profanity in the dialogue, I this should be for adults. Still, for adult readers, the story itself should be more complex, it needs some twists and turns.

I really wish there is more plot on this story since the idea itself is very interesting. For those of you who loves novels, you may find that you want more of it. If you're a short story lover, this is a short an fun read to entertain you. Scratch gets 3 rating from me.
