After some digging, I finally visit Bloglovin and so far, it works for me. So, I started following other book blogs and since I also sell on Etsy, I follow tons of craft and DIY blogs to, even though I have no intention whatsoever so try the projects. Oh, I also have fashion and beauty blogs on my reading list, too. I actually subscribe to any kind of blog I find interesting and they actually helps me in some ways:
It opens my mind to a different point of view
I saw a craft blog once that features some cool items made from used books. As a bookworm, of course it made me cringe. How on earth would anyone butcher a book into a wall art, for example. As I read the blogger's explanation that she made it from abandoned book that was almost falling apart, I can definitely see her point. It's a good thing to bring back the book to a useful condition rather than leaving it alone tearing itself apart.
To prevent monotony
You know, when you ALWAYS read certain type of blog, you tend to catch similarities among them and if you continue to apply it to your writing, your blog would be a monotony. You don't want to be that kind of blogger. Your have your own voice, use it. You have your own point of view, speak up. That's what make you stand out from the crowd and just so you know, copycats won't be around for long. So, if you blog for the long run, rethink your approach and start planning.
It helps when brainstorming for blog post ideas
Reading many kind of blogs is my favorite way to brainstorm new blog post ideas. There are may things you can apply on your own blog, even it's from something outside your niche. They usually help me in choosing headlines, and I'll develop it to adjust my blog niche. So I strongly recommend you to read as many blogs as you can and don't limit yourself on the selection.
It's like subscribing on many magazines (for free)
Well, I see blogs as an online magazine. Some people may not agree with me because blogs are more than that. You get articles and interaction, which is something you don't get on a magazine. Reading magazine is a good way to entertain yourself, and in my case, reading blogs gives me the same amount of joy. Now, since it is free and lets you learn something new, there's no good reason left for not to do read them, right?
