Review : Watermelon by Marian Keyes

Watermelon is not a book about fruit, nor a book about food. It's a story of a lady, Claire, whose husband left her when she gave birth to HIS daughter. He left her for another woman who was older than her (and yes, she looked her age). Those disaster left Claire devastated.

Claire left London to back to her old home town, Dublin where she was always warmly welcome by her family. She couldn't believe what happened to her marriage because she didn't see anything wrong with it. The loved each other and it was like marriage made in heaven. Claire really hoped that her husband would be back to her, but when people say "be careful on what you wish for", well, it does have a point.

Now, what do I think about Watermelon? Oh, I cannot lie to you, I absolutely love it! I like how Marian Keyes put humor in her writing. To me, the book is effortlessly hilarious. It doesn't stop there, though because there's something meaningful in it. So,
I can say that this book isn't for the sake of laughing only. There you can also find the signs of a manipulating man and how he works to put all the blame in you (well, I think not every woman knows about that, right?)

5 rating for this book, without a doubt. I recommend this book for those of you who are looking for easy and funny read because this book is very entertaining. If you are a beginner in chick-lit genre, this book is also a good choice because it is not so soapy. If you are a chick-lit addict, well, there's no reason why for you not to put Watermelon into your to-read list. *winks*
