Recommendation time, everyone! This post has been sitting on draft for a while because frankly I am not confident enough in writing book list. Why? Well, I don't really read much compare to other book bloggers (I wish I had their energy), so yeah, I don't think I have read enough book to write this kind of post. Anyway, who cares! I actually have some books in mind which I hope, will interest you.
I love book that plays with my feelings. I like it when it's full of twist and turns that I have no idea what will happen, just like in real life. So, below are books that match the criteria. These five novels left marks in my mind and all of them are unforgettable to me. Here they are:
Garden of Stones by Sophie Littlefield | Historical fiction
Littlefield is a newcomer in historical fiction, but she wrote this book like a rock star and she's meant to be taken seriously. Garden of Stones A story of a life of Japanese American after Pearl Harbor. A must read for historical fiction lover, especially those of you who are looking for Japanese point of view.
Oh, I cannot praise this book enough. 'Tis the most beautiful love story I've ever read. It changed my life, it ensured me the power of love really does exists. Gosh, grab it now! Where else can you read about Burma youngster in early 1950s? This book totally changed my reading preference, I now take romance seriously.
Life of Pi by Yan Martel | Magical realism/contemporary
I am sure most of you at least know that this book is famous. It is not without reason and Hollywood really made a good decision by filming it. The story of Pi and the Bengal tiger forced me to sit and think as I reached the last page.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini | Historical Romance
A story of two women of Afghanistan, both were struggling for life against the war and their viscous spouse. Heartbreaking, but leaves tons of food for thought. It taught me to be grateful with what I've got in life, while on the other part of the world, some people are not even allowed to to go school.

The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate | Middle grade/contemporary
Applegate is an expert in children's book. The One and Only Ivan is a tale of a captive silver-back gorilla and his friends. His journey towards freedom is really worth to read even for adults. Yes, it's intended towards young readers, but it's no way a childish read.
