Hello everyone. Great to see you again! You know I love roaming around the internet hunting for new blogs to subscribe. I enjoy reading various kinds of blogs and this makes my feed almost never-ending. Not that I mind, of course. I like reading posts from different point of view and it allows me to learn something new everyday, while having fun at the same time.
Having said that, I do come across some blogs that I think a little reader unfriendly. A pity, because once a new visitor landed on your homepage, you want him/her to feel comfortable and continue surfing your blog. Here are the types of blog I personally dislike.
Having said that, I do come across some blogs that I think a little reader unfriendly. A pity, because once a new visitor landed on your homepage, you want him/her to feel comfortable and continue surfing your blog. Here are the types of blog I personally dislike.
#1 Blogs that don't have mobile version
Seriously, it's 2015. Everyone and their grannies use their smartphones or tablets to access the internet. Chances are, your readers do, too. If you really care about them, turn on the mobile version, there's no reason why you would still show the desktop version which is harder to access on smaller screens.
#2 Blogs with tiny teeny text fonts
I am myopic, this kind of blogs are giving me agonies. Those great contents you have written are useless if they are not readable. Please please please consider changing your font size, font type and color and make it as readable as possible. Choose the simplest one, your blog is not a greeting card, hand written note is not expected on computer screen.
#3 Blogs that's infested with rants
You live only once, why be so antagonistic? I get that everyone has different opinions on everything, I also believe that you have to stand up for what you believe is right, but it doesn't mean that you have to belittle those who have different opinions. Negativity will get you nowhere, it will only invites more negativity. But it's my blog, what is your problem? Gosh, with that attitude, the problem is you, my friend. Calm down!
#4 Blogs with never-ending paragraph
... or even better, blogs with no paragraph at all. How would I suppose to read those oceans of text without making myself dizzy? Breaking texts into several paragraphs is not a hard task to do, why not do it and make your blog look neater? Neat blogs means happy readers. It's a win win situation.
#5 Blogs with tons of sponsored/guest posts
I totally understand that sponsored post brings money and guest post helps fellow bloggers to shine, but it is your blog, your own content should be the star. To be frank, I haven't come across a sponsored post I actually like. It is a promotional tool after all, it's hard to like it unless you are so in love with the brand. Too many guest posts, for me, gives an impressions that the blogger doesn't really take care about his/her blog anymore. He/she doesn't bother to write for his/her readers and rely upon others to do that. I don't know about you, but I don't like it.
#6 Blogs that make me feel unwelcome
Clique-ey blogs that only communicate with their circle of friends and ignore all the "outsiders". Or those with pop-up windows asking my email address so I don't miss future posts, the second I land on the home page. It's like I have to buy ticket to read it. It annoys the heck out of me, I won't ever think to come back. I don't mind giving my email address, but let me read your post first before I decide if I want to subscribe.
