Hey guys! Great to see you again. It has been awhile since I updated my blog. Days were hectic and quite stressful for me. Just two weeks ago, my youngest daughter, Vanya was ill. I spent the whole week caring for her. This is not the first time for me caring for a sick child, but it sure was the most stressful one. Her fever didn't break until the third day despite of having medicine and since some of my co-workers' children were hospitalized because of dengue fever, I was scared to death that my daughter would share the same sickness.
So, we want to the lab, had her blood checked and ta da, no dengue fever. Relieved? Nope, we found out that she's diagnosed with paratyphoid fever! I was so worried and sad. I wish I could just move the darn disease out of her. I wish I was the one being sick. She was irritable, cranky, weak and sleepy all the time. She just wanted to be held, even when she was sleeping. It broke my heart to see her like that. It hurts to see your loved one in agony while there's nothing you can do to help except waiting for the medicine to work.
The good news is, it did work. Her condition improved the next day and she was getting better everyday. She's now back to her old self and and appetite is as usual, yay!. All I can say is phew! I was so darn physically and mentally exhausted but seeing her getting well was worth all the effort.
On the other hand, listening to the 90s music helps me a lot in gaining back my sanity. It also a good way remembering of my childhood years. You know, I was (and still am) the biggest fan of the band Hanson. I had their poster hanging on my bedroom wall and every time a magazine featured them, I bought it. I had the biggest crush on Taylor Hanson (hey, he's still my celebrity crush!) and I thought, nope, I believed I would marry him in the future! It was crazy, but really fun at the same time.
I rediscovered the band after not seeing them for decades. My music taste changed as I grew up and I stopped watching MTV in senior high school. I thought they stopped singing already. But I was wrong. Well, last week out of the blue while browsing Youtube, I searched for them. I also did a lot of Google digging and I found out that they had a new album (not really new, it was released in 2013, but you get the idea). My childhood idols have transform from cute teenage guys to handsome gentlemen. And their music and voice so much improved!
These guys bring back so many good memories. I was teased and being laughed at by my schoolmates because I liked them. You know, it was so uncool to like Hanson back then. Everybody and their sisters like Hanson, it was just too mainstream. However, seeing these gentlemen these days, I can see why I love them, so no regrets at all. Now, my oldest daughter Callista keeps on demanding me to let her watch Hanson videos on Youtube. Well, like mother like daughter, I guess.
So, how have you been lately? I hope you have a great time. Oh, do you like listening to music too? What are some bands that remind you of your childhood? Do you still like them?
