Review : I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella

Title : I've Got Your Number
Author : Sophie Kinsella
Publication date : February 14th 2012 by The Dial Press

It has been a while since I finished Shopaholic series. Even though I didn't really like the ending of the final book, Kinsella is one of my guilty pleasure authors. Every time I see her name printed on a book, I feel like I have to read it. I like to criticize her books, but then again, her books are mostly entertaining and so hard to resist. It's like having chocolate as snacks, it's bad for your teeth, but who can refuse chocolate?

Kinsella again uses her signature opening scene, which is the main character in panic because she did something wrong or something bad happens to her. It would seem nice if you are newbies to Kinsella's books, but if you have read her previous novels, it seems to repetitive.Yeah, I know, here we go, I start to complain about it again.

Poppy Wyatt has just lost her engagement ring which is her fiance family heirloom! To make things worse, she also lost her phone. Out of the blue she spotted an abandoned phone in a trash bin and she claimed it as hers. So she started to spread her "new number" hoping she would finally find the ring. The true owner of the phone didn't like it, though and demanded it back.

I think Poppy is just Becky Brandon without the shopaholic trait. She talks in the same tone, and she has this tendency to lie (just like Becky). Having said that, Poppy still has her own characteristic. She doesn't have enough confidence and everything makes her feel inferior. I think many women feel this way, especially if their relationship is not healthy.

The story is so fun to read, and hilarious. There's no annoying character in this book, except Poppy's fiance, Magnus. I even wonder what makes Poppy fall in love with him considering his not so good personality. The moral of I've Got Your Number is, don't lose your phone, or don't check somebody else's email. Now here's my favorite quote:
I've never shared an in-box with anyone in my life. I didn't expect it to feel so ... intimate. it's as if we're suddenly sharing an underwear drawer of something.
That cracked me up, ladies and gentlemen! All right, 4 rating for I've Got Your Number. If only there's no lying involved with Poppy, I would definitely give 5. Now I know how it feels like to have have "guilty pleasure" stuffs, a thing that I previously didn't understand. Psst... I'd still definitely read Kinsella's novels, if she decides to write another *giggles*

I recommend this book for those of you who are looking for some entertaining read, well relax yourself and gain your sanity back. What about you, my lovely readers? Which books fall into your guilty pleasure category?
