Game of Thrones TV Series : A Rant

Who doesn't love Game of Thrones TV series,? Uh, you must be living under a rock *coughs* Season 4 is airing now and waiting for the next episode is the most annoying thing in this world. As some of you may know, I am currently obsessed with this series. I am now reading book 5 (Dance with Dragons), can't wait for book six and even though I already know how the story goes (so far) there are some things that quite surprised me from the series. The first and second season changes didn't really bother me, but the third and fourth season, I think they kind of doing it too much.

It's not only the storyline changes that bothers me, anyway, but also the depiction of TV show. Please note that these are my personal opinions, you may or may not agree with them, so, alright, here are my two concerns about the TV show:

Yes, especially in the fourth season. The previous ones are also filled with it, but I don't really remember much. I am okay with occasional nudity, but when every episode is stuffed with it, I think it's a bit too much. The books are more than 1000 page long, so there are a lot of thing that can be shown instead of nudity. Heck, the book itself doesn't shove nude scene in every chapter, so why is this TV show different? They have great casts and great teams behind the show, I bet they also have huge budget for it, but this excessive nudity thing kind of makes the show cheap.

I hate it when they make too much changes in the storyline, even more when they add scenes that are actually don't exist in the books. For example, the capture of Bran in Craster's Keep (he didn't get captured there, he didn't even passed that place by in the first place), the rape of Cersei by Jaime next to Joffrey's casket (this irritates me the most actually), and that scene doesn't exist in the book either.

I mean, instead of making that unimportant (and misleading) alteration, why not make the casts look more like what they are described in the books. For instance, Daario Naharis is said to have forked beard, golden teeth and blue hair, but in the TV series, he's just a bloke with messy hair and thick beard. He doesn't look memorable (and intimidating) enough for me.

Oh, though I have some issues with the show, I still love it and I plan to watch the future season as well. The have great actors and actress who do great job in portraying the characters, and the show still helps me a lot in visualizing the scenes.

Now, how about you? Do you watch the show? What do you think of it?

Oh, I've actually never watched this one because I once borrow the book from my hardcore-fans friend, and hell I didn't understand it at all 0-0 ahaha
But everyone seems to be raving about this, so maybe I'll try this later. Been hearing much about the nudity issue though ;p

I can say that ASOIF series are actually not that difficult to understand (though I admit I was somewhat confused with the prologue). The books are just big and fat, but that's it. Well, for some people (like me) it can be intimidating at first.

Just watched the finale last night. The change the storyline again... meh!

I was more incensed on the rape scene at Craster Keep. Very disturbing and macam tadek value to the story. The whole Craster Keep story is very annoying.

I sometimes are intrigued about the deviations like how the show on what the White Walker actually do with the babies. ( I much prefer that than being eaten) .

Arrgh, I forgot to mention that part too. It's so disturbing, I agree with you and it add nothing valuable to the story. Well, since the show is quote notorious of having a mind of its own, I have to confess that I don't know whether the white walker and baby scene is accurate. I also prefer them not to be eaten =/
